Retirements at the A.G.M....
Our company Secretary Dympna Mawn and P.R.O. Oliver Haslette have unfortunately retired after numerous years of hard and dedicated work for the business community of the area. They will be greatly missed but these fine developments will always be testimony to their tireless work for the community.

Projects Supported By The Forum

The Forum made a decision back in 2003 to support all local organisations where possible. This was a natural progression as businesses in Manorhamilton have never been found wanting when it came to supporting good causes in the area.

On the 31st August 2005 the Forum gave a donation of €5000 towards the Amenity Park at The Star Fort. They also made a donation on 29th August 2006 to the Bee Park Development Fund of €10,000 towards the dressing room renovation. This week a cheque for €2,900 was presented to The Leitrim Ladies Football Team to purchase Tracksuits for their all Ireland final against Sligo.

Not only have we given financial support to those projects but we have been to the fore in helping numerous other ventures for the betterment of the area. Along with the local elected councillors and other interested locals we became a strong and effective lobby group for the retention of the head quarters of the N.W.H.B. as a major centre within the new H.S.E..

The Forum was instrumental in getting Broadband to the area. It had meetings with numerous suppliers before it became a reality.
We worked with The Bee Park Committee to bring Origan Farmers Market to Manorhamilton against stiff opposition.
Another success story that we had a hand in is the magnificent new Children's Playground in Castle Street. This was undertaken by Leitrim Co. Co. at a cost of €100,000.
